Your journey to medicine

Whether you are a student who thinks they may like to study medicine or any other healthcare sciences in the future, a parent with a child with ambitions of medicine, or a teacher who wants to support the aspirations of their students, regardless of their background, we are on hand to help.

Currently, our 6-year delivery consists of three, two-year programmes which are delivered in specific schools in partnership with universities. However, we are constantly evaluating what we do so that, in the future, we can get the right information to the right people at the right time. This may include:

  • providing teachers with information to help their students to make the right choices
  • guiding parents through their role in the medical application process, from supporting homework through to university visits and funding opportunities
  • most importantly, providing young people from underrepresented backgrounds with the skills, knowledge and opportunities that they deserve to reach their full potential.

This section of our website is a work in progress! We will constantly be reviewing and adding to content, so watch this space! If you have anything specific you would like to see here, please get in touch; we will do our best to accommodate your needs.

For now, in this section you will find a list of useful resources – some useful sites which provide information, support and guidance.

In 2015 the BMA Published a report called ‘The Right Mix’ which stated that less than 5% of medical students come from the most disadvantaged backgrounds and half of all schools across the UK do not produce a single medical applicant.

We are here to change that figure, one medical student at a time.
