Help Us to Celebrate Our 5th Anniversary!

By News, Information and Advice

Join us at the home of the Royal Society for Medicine where we will celebrate the people who have helped us to achieve what we have so far, and share our ambitions for the future.

The Armitage Foundation will be celebrating its 5th birthday this year and to mark the occasion we will be holding a gala dinner at 1 Wimpole Street on Thursday 13th July.

Following a welcome reception in the magnificent Max Rayne Atrium, guests will enjoy a 3-course set menu which showcases locally sourced, seasonal produce, prepared to perfection.

Over after-dinner coffee and drinks, guests will hear from our founders, Dr Leanne Armitage and Daniel Huf about the importance of our work, and what inspires us to continue to strive for equity in the medical admissions process. We will also hear from some of the people that really count; young people who have taken part in our programmes. A programme participant or Armitage Ambassador will be seated at each table so that guests can learn more about what we do, and why.

This is a valuable opportunity to meet the people who make The Armitage Foundation the organisation it is, including some of our wonderful young Ambassadors, and to learn the role that we all have to play in building a more equitable future for people from all walks of life.

This is not a fundraising event and as such, individual tickets and bronze table bookings are designed to cover the costs of the event. However, if you select the silver or gold table package, all profits will be allocated to the development and delivery of our programmes.

Lived Experience Trustee Required!

By Uncategorized

We are seeking a Trustee who has successfully applied to study medicine, despite being from an under-represented or disadvantaged background. We believe that any student possessing the capability and passion for becoming a doctor should be able to. We are looking for someone who can draw on their unique knowledge and insights into overcoming the obstacles which can hinder able students getting a place at medical school, and share their passion and enthusiasm to drive the aspirations of the foundation.
The person we appoint will play a major part in assisting with our future growth, by providing insight into the needs and challenges faced by able students from under-represented/disadvantaged backgrounds who wish to study medicine. They will also be able to advise on programme development and scrutinise performance through the eyes of the beneficiary.

Finance Trustee Required!

By News

We are seeking a Finance Trustee to support the Board to monitor the financial viability of the charity.
The person we appoint will play a major part in assisting with our future growth, by helping to create a sustainable model and providing valuable support and insight for all financial reporting. This sustainable model will then enable partnerships with more universities and schools, making our programme accessible to even more young people from underrepresented backgrounds.

The role will entail attending quarterly Trustee meetings (two hours/quarter), overseeing payroll (ten minutes/month), and other activities that are in line with your interests and areas of strength (maximum two hours per month, estimated). We are a passionate team that enjoy working together for a greater good, and who find the work that we do incredibly rewarding.
